Massage Therapy offers numerous benefits. Not only is it good for your muscles, it is good for your mental state. Massage decreases stress and increases focus.
Listed below are just a few of Massage Therapy benefits:
- improves range of motion, increases joint flexibility
- exercises and stretches weak, tight, or atrophied muscles
- helps athletes of any level prepare for and recover from strenuous work outs
- pumps oxygen and nutrients into tissues and vital organs, improving circulation
- reduces spasms and cramping
- relax and soften injured, tired, and overused muscles
- decreases anxiety, enhance sleep quality, greater energy
- injury prevention, muscles are stretched during a massage and joints are moved in their range of motion.
- limber muscles and joints will decrease the chance of injuries occurring.
- massage can help dissolve waste fluids, such as lactic acid and lead to shorter recovery time
There are so many massage benefits for young athletes. Keeping their bodies healthy and flexible is essential in becoming the best athlete. Even coaches need to keep their bodies in top shape. Coaches and parents give so much of their time and energy in teaching and working out with young baseball/softball players. Massage Therapy will help coaches and parents keep their bodies flexible enough to teach these young athletes correct form.
