Clay Eason is a native of Dunn, North Carolina. He was the Regional 4A player of the year at Triton High School in 1993. He then played two years at Emmanuel College in Georgia where he starred as a starting pitcher and shortstop. His #9 jersey was retired in 2002. After Emmanuel he transferred to North Carolina State University where he was First Team All-ACC and First-Team All American in 1997. The Philadelphia Phillies drafted Eason in the 1997 June draft and he played the next three seasons in the Phillies organization where he made it to AAA. In 2000 he played in one major league Exhibition game.  He then joined the White Sox organization as a free agent where he played in AA and AAA while also participating in major league spring training games. Eason’s career was cut short due after 8 years to a surgery on his throwing shoulder.  He then moved into the college coaching ranks at Furman University, North Carolina State University, and Indiana University. He served in roles including head assistant coach, pitching coach, and recruiting coordinator. Eason now resides in Bloomington with his loving family.

Eason will work with pitchers of all ages but focuses on Middle and High school pitchers. He offers small group training that could also include strength and workout programs to gain strength needed for the game today. Eason will help take the athletes of Diamond Dynamics to the next level while also assisting our athletes in the college recruiting process. His playing experience at a high level, coaching experience, and networking tree of coaches assures our kids are in good hands.
