Jim Riggins
Coach Riggins is a baseball instructor for Diamond Dynamics who focuses on pitching for players 12 years and older. He offers small group lessons of 2 players for 45 minutes. Coach Riggins has previously served in varsity assistant and freshman coaching roles at Bloomington North and Bloomington South as well as providing pitching instruction to Barr-Reeve and Loogootee high school athletes. Through that coaching experience, Riggins has mentored several high school pitchers that have gone on to play collegiately, two who have been drafted. In addition to high school coaching, Riggins has coached numerous high school age and youth summer and fall league teams.

Coach Riggins is a graduate of Loogootee High School (’81), where he played both basketball and baseball and the University of Evansville (’85), where he pitched Division 1 baseball for the Aces. Riggins’s brother, Mark (Loogootee ’75, Murray State ’79), played professionally for the St. Louis Cardinals and has been a professional pitching coach for the Cardinals, Cubs, Reds, and Blue Jays organizations.
Coach Riggins previously worked for 34 years as a professional civil engineer at the Naval Support Activity, Crane, Indiana. He is married to Lisa (Traylor) Riggins, who worked as an English teacher at Bloomington’s Tri-North Middle School for many years. Jim and Lisa have two boys, Ben and Clay, as well as daughter Mallory, who passed away in 2000. Both Ben (IU ’09) and Clay (Taylor University ‘18) have pitched collegiate baseball.
